Health Care
Clinton had campaigned heavily on healthcare reform, once he gained office he created a task force to devise the universal healthcare plan. During this time 37 million Americans were without health insurance, which made healthcare one of the major issues Clinton needed to deal with. His health plan required each U.S citizen and permanent resident of the United States to become enrolled in the health plan and they couldn't unroll until they had their own health insurance
The main goal of Clinton's program was to provide universal health care for all Americans, to do this President Clinton had put his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton in charge of the Health Care Task Force. At first she was brought in to sell the plan of having a health care plan that worked for everyone, but having her involved only made the situation more controversial. The health care plan became a huge part of the Clinton administration, but overall it was a huge failure for both Clintons.
